Environment
"The biggest partner of them all…our incredible landscape! Our desire to enjoy Scotland's amazing outdoors is matched only by our committment to contribute to sustainable tourism in Scotland."
We operate a ‘small footprint’ philosophy meaning that not only do we undertake to minimise negative environmental impacts of running our business, we encourage our clients to consider their interaction with the environments they visit, and we make use of local products and services wherever possible.
We, and hopefully our clients want to enjoy Scotland's incredible natural resources forever – that's why we've taken these steps:
Environment
We take real action on climate change by buying 'pollution permits' from Sandbag – an innovative way of reducing the amount of pollution taking place which forces industry to invest in cleaner technologies. Every permit removed from the system means one less tonne of greenhouse gas in the atmosphere
We advocate conservative driving wherever possible, and our vehicles carry up to 12 passengers and bikes – which potentially means fewer cars on the roads and lower CO2 emissions
Wherever possible GO-WHERE Scotland develops partnerships with tourism related businesses who share similar environmental policies to ourselves
- We encourage our clients to enjoy Scotland in a responsible way as advocated by the Scottish Outdoor Access Code
Sustainability
- GO-WHERE Scotland aims to help provide a more even spread of visitors to rural destinations because mountain biking (one of our core activities) is a year round activity
- By encouraging visiting clients to use local suppliers e.g. sourcing local produce for catered itineraries, using independent accommodation, we can contribute to and support local communities throughout the year
- GO-WHERE Scotland encourages cyclists to use Scotland’s public transport system; we are in dialogue with public transport providers to strengthen links – providing passengers with seamless ‘train to mountain’ transport services for example
