Great North Trail is Go!

There’s such a buzz about the new Great North Trail launched by Cycling UK – an 800 mile off road cycle route connecting England with some of the best routes in Scotland taking you from the Peak District all the way to the north tip of Scotland!

Go-Where partner & guide, Aneela managed to get a sneaky preview of the route and got to show Cycling UK’s Rob Spanring and Sophie Gordon along with their photographer Joolze Dymond some of the amazing off road sections through the Borders and up towards Edinburgh.

Sophie Gordon (Cycling UK) and Aneela McKenna (Go-Where Scotland) take a break whilst riding part of Cycling UK's off-road LEJOG route at Kirkhope Law, Peebles, June 2019. The varied route offers something for everyone, from rugged mountain biking terrain to family-friendly canal paths.

It was an absolute pleasure to help with the launch and to highlight that the Great North Trail is there for everyone – you can do it all in one go or use it to create your own mini adventure by connecting up different segments of the overall route. We can’t wait to ride the whole route ourselves!

Cycling UK have been working hard to make this happen and it’s fantastic to finally see this all come together.
