And here’s the proof! A tantalising glimpse of what’s in store for all you gravel aficionados (and gravel curious mountain bikers) when you venture onto our fair Island.
Building on April’s Duke’s Gold gravel tour, we were recently tasked with conjuring up a special gravel press trip for one of our industry clients.
- to showcase the characteristics of the brand new Cervélo Áspero gravel bike to the world’s cycling press;
- to wrap the whole experience in everything that has been the essence of our bike tours in Scotland since the beginning – exceptional trails, genuine Scottish hospitality, and, given this was Cervelo’s first foray into the off-road world of gravel cycling – kick ass terrain that tested the bike to the max and an experience that would enthral these seasoned riders on and off the bike.
What follows is a selection of the beautiful images captured by pro-photographers Ashley and Jered Gruber during our press trip, and if you’d like to know more about this one-off itinerary, download the welcome media pack (PDF) we created to help acquaint our press visitors with what makes Scotland extra special for gravel adventuring.
We cannot wait to be back riding there – our next Duke’s Gold tour departs October 4th; it takes the best bits of the press trip and turns them into a holiday you won’t forget in a hurry. If three days of guided riding with local gravel guide Andy Stanford, two night’s dinner, bed and breakfast in the heart of Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park doesn’t already whet your whistle – there’s a chance you can have all this for less than £300 if you’re quick off the mark. Catch the Trossachs at their finest when the mountains and glens are wearing their beautiful Autumnal plumage with our final special offer of the season.
